Q: After switching off the oven I can still hear the cooker working

A: This is quite normal as there may be a cooling fan fitted, which will run for several minutes to ensure the controls are kept cool.

Q: Food is burning/not cooking (Electric Models)

A: Electric fan ovens should have a very close temperature range (+/- 15 degC from the temperature set) on all shelves in the oven. Assuming the appliance is level, temperatures outside these limits should be referred to a qualified service agent.

Q: Food is burning/not cooking in the oven (Gas Models)

A: a) Is food being cooked at the correct temperature. See users handbook for correct gas mark to centigrade conversion, this may differ from recipe books.
b) Natural Convection ovens will have Zoned heat areas and temperatures will differ from top to bottom and side to side. Excessive temperature differentials should be referred to a qualified service agent.

Q: Oven makes a noise when heating up or cooling down

A: This is caused by the expansion and contraction of the metal panels in the oven and is not a fault with the appliance.

Q: Why is it that every time the grill is used I get a lot of smoke

A: Grill temperature is too high or the food is too close to the grill burner/element, causing spitting and soiling of the grill element.

Q: Oven has a strong acrid smell when used for the fist few times

A: This is quite normal on new appliances. The appliance should be set to maximum temperature for 1-2 hours, to allow for any oil or grease that may be on the elements to burn off. If the smell persist then the customer should contact a qualified service agent.
